Paintings and Drawings
This page is an archive of some of my older artwork. Most of this work was completed while I was an undergraduate student (1993 - 1998) studying painting and drawing at Belhaven College. The things I find most interesting about this work are the evidence of my interest in dramatic compositions, the attention to the modeling of objects, and an interest in unique perspectives and vantage points, all of which are concerns of my site-specific installations. I'm convinced that I was simply trying to do sculptural work within the constraints of two-dimensional media. Eventually, as I became more courageous, three-dimensional elements began to show up in the work.
